Gani is Hebrew for "My Garden", a reference to earth as the Divine Garden it's designed to be. This imagery is portrayed in King's Solomon's Song of Songs (5:1).

The Gani theme turned into a mission, with the Previous Rebbe's Final Spiritual Discourse, before his passing (1950) which was continued by our Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson, in his inaugral address upon assuming leadership in 1951.

In a powerful opening discourse titled "Basi L'Gani" (I came to My garden), the Rebbe called us to envision the Divine Garden, much like the Garden of Eden, where the Divine Presence ("Shechina") was manifest, and charged us with the mission to realize this global vision.

GANI, is a non-profit organization based on Hawai'i's Garden Island (Kauai), which carries this name and goal, with the goal of spreading the Gani mission from Kauai to the rest of the world.
